Accommodation

The Halberg Foundation is once again generously providing subsidised accommodation at the Wānaka Top 10 Holiday Park for festival attendees. 

Please note that there is limited accommodation, and families with children under the age of 21 will be prioritised. However, we do encourage anyone who is interested in The Halberg Foundations subsidised accommodation option to fill out an expression of interest form below.

Equipment

  • What equipment is available during the weekend?

We have a number of mono-skis, bi-skis, outriggers, ski links, high vis bibs and blankets. If you require any other equipment you may contact us before the festival to further discuss your options. For more information on adaptive equipment, please visit our website here

Activities

  • What other activities are there to do during the festival?

Halberg Foundation are exploring extra opportunities. These will be confirmed on the festival program closer to the time, along with any cost details (if any). 

Snow Sports NZ also host a fun race on the last day of the festival where participants can test their new skills in a timed course to race against the clock or their friends with prizes to be won! 

  • What social activities are planned as part of the festival?

We are currently exploring the possibility of a festival welcome party and group dinner. Details will be confirmed in the festival program closer to the time. 

Lessons

  • How many free lessons will I get?

We will do our best to accommodate first timers/ beginners with 1x free (1 hour) private lesson.

If you are a beginner, we recommend contacting Cardrona in advance to book additional lessons (these will be at your own cost and there may be limited availability during the festival).

Adaptive Membership

  • Do I get a discount for lessons and equipment if I am an Adaptive Snow Sport NZ member?

Yes, all Snow Sports NZ Adaptive Members are entitled to discounted rates on season passes, equipment rental and lessons. Please visit our website here for a more detailed list of benefits. 

Note: you must be able to show your 2025 adaptive membership card. Without this, you may be charged full price. 

Cancellations

  • If I can no longer attend the festival, do I need to cancel?

Please cancel your ticket if you can no longer participate at the festival. We spend a lot of time organising everything for the festival so, whether you are a participant or a volunteer, you can quickly and easily cancel or amend your ticket here

On the Day

  • What should I bring/ wear?

Preparation is key to have a great day on the mountain and we recommend dressing for any kind of weather!

  • Boots or shoes with a bit of tread or that are waterproof

  • Winter thermals and mid layer 

  • Waterproof pants and jacket (these are available for hire with advance notice at The Remarkables)

  • Ski googles (in case of wind or snow) and sunglasses

  • Ski or snowboard socks 

  • Helmet (mandatory - available for hire at The Remarkables)

  • Waterproof ski or snowboard gloves/ mittens

  • At least 30+ SPF and SPF lip balm

  • Neck warmer, beanie (optional)

  • You can bring your own lunch or purchase it at the Base Cafe

  • We strongly recommend bringing snacks and drinks to keep you energised and hydrated throughout the day

 

  • Can my family get involved with the festival as well?

Absolutely! Just include their information on the registration form along with your own.

  • What time does the mountain open?

Cardrona is open daily from 8:30am - 4pm, subject to weather
